Travel & Trade

The Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States.

To join the SENTRI program, travelers must apply and undergo a rigorous background check and in-person interview before enrollment. In Nogales, SENTRI lanes for passenger vehicles expedite rapid crossings between the U.S. and Mexico at the DeConcini port of entry in downtown Nogales. The twelve new passenger vehicle screening lanes at the Mariposa Port of Entry are all SENTRI-ready, allowing CBP to open more than one dedicated SENTRI lane as volumes justify it throughout the day. SENTRI will be fully deployed at the Mariposa Port when widening is completed on the Mexican roadway leading to the port.

Border Efficiency

The Port Authority moves people and commodities across the Nation's fourth largest Port of Entry.

Even though SENTRI was initially designed to facilitate border crossers along the Southern border, participants may now enter the U.S. through dedicated primary lanes not only at southern land border crossings but also at Global Entry kiosks across the U.S., NEXUS land border crossings when entering the U.S. from Canada, and also access to the TSA Pre-check lanes at major airports.

You can apply for SENTRI or learn more by going to the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES).
